While we know we have an infinite road ahead of us towards being 100% sustainable in every facet of our business, we are actively trying to use more and more sustainable fabrics, trim (buttons and labels), and packaging. We’re also 100% committed to only working with manufacturers that provide their employees with the best working conditions and treat them fairly with wages, practices and facilities as well as donating time and profits to organizations that fight injustices we care deeply about.
FABRICS & MATERIALS
FABRICS / TEXTILES
We have always made fabrics a priority in terms of finding the perfect combination of traits for each garment we produce. We are currently in the process of sourcing the most sustainable fabrics we can to replace any current fabric in production that is not considered sustainable.
Some things we do now or in the pipeline include:1) Board shorts made from recycled bottles.
2) Recycled poly shipping bags.
3) Recycled polyester button ups.
4) Water based dyes and graphics for our Primo Tees.
5) Switch to Organic Cotton, Tencel, Modal, Recycled Poly for all products.
BUTTONS & TRIM
We have recently switched over all our buttons for our Premium Button Ups to either Low Impact coconut or Corozo Buttons. Corozo is a 100% natural product which is similar in consistency to a hard resin. Also known as tagua, it is often referred to as "vegetable ivory." At a microscopic level, corozo is made up of very tightly wound organic fibers which give it excellent durability and scratch resistance. Its porous nature allows colors to penetrate deep into the surface which makes it an excellent material for dyeing. Corozo is also well known for its elegant natural grain; a unique pattern that, much like a fingerprint, ensures no two buttons are exactly alike. The following are some other advantages of using Corozo:
100% Natural, Non-toxic, child safe. Dry-clean, washable, Scratch and high temperature resistant. Impact resistant - will not crack or splinter. Unique Natural grain
