The Food. Oh, the Food...
Father’s Day is really about two things: food and drinks (preferably paired together). And let us tell you, Colombia’s culinary scene is a trip all on its own. From Cartagena’s street food stalls serving up fresh ceviche and empanadas to the hearty Bandeja Paisa (the national dish) in Medellin, your dad will have no problem clearing his plate, and probably yours too.
Of course, no meal is complete without a cold beer to wash it down, and Colombia’s beer scene? It’s solid. We drank beers, we ate amazing food, and we realized just how many new dishes we could scarf down. It was the perfect combination of bonding over food, colonial history, the strategic importance, and strictly the best Caribbean music.
