Travel Bucket List? Bariloche, Argentina

Nahuel Huapi Lake

Need somewhere new to add to your bucket list? If Argentina is on your list but you’re still looking for towns to stop in, you should really consider Bariloche. It’s a town in Argentina’s Patagonia region.

For all the foodies and travelers out there, Bariloche is known for it’s Swiss-like alpine charm, natural beauty, and even the array of chocolates. Every where you look there are fresh raspberries dipped in both white and dark homemade chocolate, microbrews and traditional Argentine asado. What else do you need?

It’s most famous for it’s views of the glacial lake Nahuel Huapi. The crystal-clear blue waters are like you’ve never seen. It covers a surface area of 1,825 ft (557 sq. meters) and is 2,300 ft (700 meters) above sea level.

Cerro Catedral is very close by for all your snow sporting needs. It’s known as the South America’s Lake Tahoe. With us being from the Bay Area, we love this! Skiing is not the only activity to do. Horseback riding, hiking, and fishing are all adventurous things you can find visitors experiencing. The ski village is packed with shopping and nightlife so there is always something to do.

No matter what time of year it is, Bariloche’s got you covered. During winter months, you will find some of the best skiing in the nation, while during the warmer seasons the area’s many lakes and rivers are perfect to relax.

Make sure when you are visiting Bariloche, you are looking fresh in your one of a kind Baja Llama shirt!
