Welcome to the Jungle! Peruvian Treasures Capsule - Part 1

From hiking 17,000 ft up the Rainbow Mountain to fishing for piranhas in the Amazon, Peru continues to offer us endless adventures time and time again. After our most recent trip, we felt the need to share the highlights and culmination of our many experiences… a collection of absolute treasures!

Growing up in and around a Peruvian family, our roots run deep. So deep that we manufacture all of our t-shirts there and even created the Peruvian Treasures Capsule dropping this April.

Inspired by our many MisAdventures in Peru, the Peruvian Treasures Capsule highlights the culture, food, people, and places we were lucky enough to experience. The idea for this collection of stunning wearable art came to fruition in April of 2022, after a factory visit to our t-shirt manufacturer in the outskirts of Lima. The factory visit turned into two weeks of non-stop excitement and sensory overload.

We ate delicious meal after delicious meal in Barranco, Miraflores, and all throughout Lima (more on that later). We ventured completely off the beaten path and visited a place in Peru we’ve never been to before, the mighty Amazon rainforest.

We canoed through the creeks of the Amazonian river, fished for piranhas, traversed the jungle, and spotted all kinds of wildlife, including birds, caymans, monkeys, our beloved sloths and much more.

All amplified by staying at Treehouse Lodge, the only all-inclusive treehouse lodge in the Amazon. Almost 80 feet above the jungle floor, we slept in our own personal treehouse bungalows and experienced a safari before we even got out of bed. Every morning, we woke up to the sounds of bird and monkey calls and admired them peacefully at eye level as they went about their day. Perched atop the canopies, we were filled with pure awe and excitement and as we got to see the rainforest from an entirely new perspective. It delivered a once in a lifetime experience like no other!

Truth be told, it was a trip of a lifetime that invigorated our curiosity and got the creative juices flowing for what we believe is our most special collection to date. In the coming weeks, we’ll continue our Peru series and dig deep about our time there and the inspiration behind the clothes and prints as a result of these expeditions.

Part 2 coming soon!

Nestled amid the lush jungle of Flores Island, Kelimutu offers one of the most spectacular and mystifying sights on Earth - three crater lakes each with stunningly distinctive colored waters. A Few Pink Friends. Peruvian Treasures Capsule - Part 2
As a part of our Peruvian Treasures Collection, A Few Pink Friends (one of our latest prints) was created to highlight the incredible wildlife only the Amazon could produce. It highlights a few, amongst the many, of the native species in the Amazon we came to admire, including the pink dolphin, the owl monkey, and the passion flower Passiflora.
