One of our favorite things about this journey and growing Baja Llama has been all the bad ass people we've met along the way. There's nothing that excites us more than adventuring out into nature and challenging ourselves with new experiences. Enter Evan Alonzo
(@aquahollic). He is a professional island hopper and stand up paddle boarding enthusiast that has inspired us to go far and say yes. We caught up with Evan recently and asked him a few questions:

  • Hey Brother, tell us where you're at right now?

I’m currently doing some paddle boarding and some offshore tournament bill fishing in Costa Rica. Bro, I absolutely love this country. I’ve been very blessed to have been able to travel all over the world, but I must admit Costa Rica is probably my favorite. The surfing, the fishing, the exploring, the food, the culture, the people…it’s truly hard to beat. Pura Vida!

  • Where's your favorite place to paddle board?

Wow! I have honestly had to give this one some thought, so many great ones. I would have say the Maldives. I have never seen water so amazing in my life. Paddling there truthfully did not seem real. I felt like I was in a movie every time I paddled out. Getting good weather there is key, but if you get it, the experience will be hard to top.

  • For someone who has never tried Paddle boarding, why do you think they should give it a go?

This is a long list, but I will give a few of my top reasons…being out in nature, trying new things, exploring, feeling of being free/alive, being on the water, physical exercise, stress/anxiety relief, meeting new people in the paddle community, etc. Over the years I have had several people reach out to me and thank me for encouraging them to try paddle boarding and how it changed their lives. I highly recommend everyone out there to give it a go!

  • What other sports do you enjoy?

Man, I love free-diving, fishing, surfing, hiking, motocross, wakeboarding, wake surfing, traveling, exploring new places and just being outdoors.

  • Baja Llama loves to travel and explore the world. Is there a place that you haven't been that you'd like to visit?

Vietnam. It’s been on my list for years, but I haven’t made it. I’ve had a few friends travel there who are experienced world-wide travelers and they stated it is hands down their favorite place on the planet.

  • We love music. Tell us your go-to song that is unique to you while you're on your board.

Dirty Heads Sloth’s Revenge…lol! Basically, I’m a big kid at heart. I still love getting out there and finding new places to paddle and explore. Typically paddling with my friends, I still get that Goonie feeling sometimes so the song always seems fitting and always gets played at some point.

  • A shameless plug for us. What do you like most about Baja Llama?

It’s the vibe for me bro! Of course, the clothes are beyond dope, well made, stylish, etc. but there’s more. It’s the people behind the company, the drive, the direction, and the purpose. I absolutely love what you all are doing and what the company mission is about. Just happy to be a very small part of it all.

There was no better print than our Paddle Fest button up to rock with Evan. We appreciate his great attitude towards life and going out and getting amongst it! Check out his IG @aquahollic and follow his journey!

Description:
The PaddleFest button up was created from real images of surfers and paddle boarders to create a print like nothing you've ever seen before. Part of our 7-SEAS™ button up collection, this shirt has all the greatest attributes. Incredibly soft, durable, and wrinkle-resistant fabric, Baja Llama's trademark side travel zip pocket, sustainable corozo nut buttons, and a bevy of details that make this shirt a classic you'll keep in your rotation for years!

Print: We took overhead drone shots of surfers and paddle boarders, digitized the print with a subtle paint effect to calm the photorealism as well as manipulated the colors a bit to create a one-of-a-kind and absolutely stunning surfers dream print. It's unique, fun, and absolutely beautiful.

Nestled amid the lush jungle of Flores Island, Kelimutu offers one of the most spectacular and mystifying sights on Earth - three crater lakes each with stunningly distinctive colored waters.
